PhD Position Available

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research group as part of an Australian Research Council Discovery Project. The successful applicant will explore the fundamental mechanisms of protein–DNA recognition using an integrative approach that may include bioinformatics and molecular simulations. This project offers the opportunity to work at the interface of structural biology, biophysics, and computational science. The student will work within a collaborative team including Dr Gökhan Tolun, Dr Nikolas Johnston, and A/Prof Martina Sanderson‑Smith.

We are seeking candidates who meet the following selection criteria:

• A Master by Research or Honours (Class I) degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
• Preferred (but not required) qualifications: Experience in computational chemistry and molecular simulations; Coursework in physical chemistry and statistical mechanics; Experience in Unix environments
• Meet UOW language requirement
